A  friend  of  mine had one of the  fascicles for volume 4  at his  place, and so  I read a  bit of  it. The problems he dealt  with were mathematically interesting, and there is probably interesting mathematics behind the algorithms he presents, but  that math is missing. There  were far too many algorithms that were  presented  with  no  explanation of why they worked.  If  you  like working out why opaque algorithms do what is claimed they  do, you will like his style. If you hate being presented with  a bunch of  black boxes, it isn't for you.
