A companhia fez parceria com as empresas especializadas </SPAN><A HREF="http://www.connection-telecom.com"><SPAN LANG="pt-br"><U>Connection Telecom</U></SPAN></A><SPAN LANG="pt-br"> e </SPAN><A HREF="http://www.clarotech.co.za"><SPAN LANG="pt-br"><U>Clarotech</U></SPAN></A><SPAN LANG="pt-br">.<BR>

“O Asterisk é uma forma ideal de investimento na telefonia IP de baixo custo e baixo risco”, diz Dave Gale, o diretor para expansão do negócio da Storm. “Os principais fornecedores de PABX podem lhe oferecer um PABX IP, com alguns lhe oferecendo, os mais baratos, em torno de R30.000 a R40.000, mas a maioria tem o custo bastante alto. Ou você pode ter o Asterisk por uma fração deste preço. Ele vai interoperar com quase todos os equipamentos telefonia que segue padrões, fornecendo interconectividade com outros PABXs, ele age como um gateway VoIP, e prover a seu negócio funcionalidades avançadas anteriormente somente disponíveis nos PABXs de alta capacidade, como URA flexível, voicemail, música em espera ou gravação de chamada”.</SPAN></P>
<P ALIGN=LEFT><SPAN LANG="pt-br">“O Asterisk tem o potencial de revolucionar sua vida cotidiana”, diz Gale. “Com meu softphone IP, eu importo meus contatos do Outlook em apenas três clicks. Achar o número de alguém é tão fácil quanto digitar um nome. Para ligá-lo então, é apenas um click do mouse. Calendários e base de contatos domina sua vida de negócios”.<BR>

“Idealmente, você deseja ser capaz de integrar seu telefone celular, e-mail, telefone de mesa e seu PC. Até recentemente, fazer handover de VoIP-para-GSM era um sonho, mas com os handsets GSM agora disponíveis no mercado, é possível fazer e receber chamadas VoIP”.<BR>

O Asterisk pode tratar carga elevada de chamadas, como tem provado um cliente da Connection Telecom, um Contact Center baseado na cidade de Cape com 14 servidores e 1680 portas. Outras instalações da Connection Telecom incluem o centro de saúde Metropolitan Health e o Centro de recuperação de desastres de Cape.<BR>

Os requerimentos para uma solução Asterisk também não são onerosas. “Você necessitaria de um servidor classe Pentium, 2GHz com bom suporte IRQ por menos de R10.000, seu sistema operacional Linux preferido, baixa latência, banda-larga necessária com mundo externo, telefones IP (com custo aproximadamente de R795 a R1000 por usuário) e uma placa analógica, BRI ou PRI da Digium para o Asterisk, na faixa de R1000 a R5000”, disse Rob Lith, CEO da Connection Telecom.<BR>

“O fenômeno Asterisk está crescendo de forma exponencial internacionalmente, e quando as empresas locais tomarem conhecimento dos seus benefícios e o fato de que existem empresas como a Connection Telecom, Clarotech e Storm que podem dar suporte a implementação, nós esperamos ver um aumento substancial desse interesse”, diz Gale.<BR>

“O VoIP como um meio de rotear chamadas pelo menor custo é bem mais funcional do que Sexo; mas quando o IP permite novas formas não tradicionais de fazer Telefonia, é como imaginar Alexander Graham Bell enfiado numa lupa rayban e usando um rabo de cavalo”, conclui Gale.</SPAN></P>
